How To Maintain Your Clientele

Meeting new clients is always a good thing; however we cannot forget the ones who have been with us since the beginning. These are our pride and joy. They’ve seen us at our best and never fail to come back. Check out these tips below to help you maintain your clientele.


Number One. The Cut

If you haven’t realized, we are getting closer and closer to the year 2020. Let’s repeat history! Bring back the short or even mid-length cuts. What will bring clients back is a dramatic cut. The shorter it is the more they need to come back to keep it that way. Also, trimming 4 inches off rather than an inch makes for a more noticeable look. It allows others to point it out more often. Once they stop asking if they got a haircut, they’ll know it’s time to come back. Clients will return a lot more to keep their short hair short.

Number Two.  Craft

Aside from how much time you spend on each appointment it’s about how happy they are when they leave the salon. Make sure that the client leaves with the look they came in for. Mirror shows all. Once you have finished, look at your client’s facial expression to see if they are satisfied. This gives you the opportunity to ask if somethings wrong. The quality of the hair determines the quality of the salon. Do your best!

Number Three. Relationship

When you have the same client for a long period of time, you start to build a relationship with them. Once you establish that you have their trust and loyalty. Meaning, they will continue to come in to the salon because of you. They know you, the quality, and the service. Trust is everything which you can only gain when they know you. Since we know they come in all the time we tend to follow what they ask for and that’s it. Instead, ask them questions. Would you like to put highlights in your hair? Cut it shorter? Asking them if they want to do something different tells the client that you care.

Number Four. Time

Remember they come to you for a reason. All they want is your attention. When a client is given all your time it makes for a great experience. They’ll know that you’re dedicated to them and the service. Countless times people won’t come back due to the lack of attention given to them. No one could ever complain about being given too much service.

Number Five. Promos

Reward your clients! You would not be there without them. Give them another reason to return to the salon. Whether it’s a discount or free product, allow them to get excited for the next appointment. Nothing maintains business like rewarding them for the business they already gave you. Try giving your “regulars” business cards. That way when others compliment your client (which you know they will) they can hand it out. A promo as simple as 25% off your next cut if you can get someone into the salon will keep your clients coming back!
